Hi

I have something similar it is a real pain (no pun intended)

The Culpermin you get in the chemist has helped me at times.

ALSO gentle tummy massage (like the baby massage I did for Bernice when she was little!) helps.

I hadnt realised you were on RTX, you must see a dr- serious tummy pain and trouble is a problem on RTX, mainly in people who have it for cancer treatments.

Dear Joanna,

I am so sorry to hear how much pain you're in, and that you've had so many tests and nothing has been properly DX.

Here is a good website for home remedies for dehydration; http://www.morphemeremed...emedies_dehydration.htm

The number one super-duper herb for all gastro type problems is Slippery Elm powder- it is most pure in it's powdered form and gets into the system quicker. It can calm all sorts of horrible problems; flatulence, the runs, constipation, pain, indigestion....It tastes vulgar though and I mix it with milk to take it.

Have you been tested for Crohn's? Sure you have but you didn't mention it.

I don't know much about the anti-tnf but it could be possible it is a side effect so check it out as you may need to cease the meds for a few weeks to allow things to settle.

You could also try going gluten free (GF) for 6 weeks- this is how long they give you before they do the biopsy and symptoms should calm down in those weeks although they won't go altogether (gluten stays in the body for two years).

Hi all,

After having had all sorts of tests last week for c-diff, parasites and various other things, I saw the GP again today. The tests have all come back negative and we're now in to week 7 and getting worse. I was up at four this morning needing to make a quick dash for the loo.

Anyhow, the long and short of it is that the GP went through correspondence she'd been sent by the gastro consultant a couple of years back when I was found to have inflammation of the bowels / colon and he reckoned it was either Crohn's or NSAID-induced Colitis ... the treatments for which are either Methotrexate or Rituximab ... both of which I'm already on.

She's put me on a week's course of steroids (20mg of pred per day) in an attempt to bring it all under control and then it'll be back to the gastro chap again.

I'm so relieved that there's an end in sight even if it is just temporary! ThumpUp Was starting to get a bit worried that I'd be having my hand op next week and still be needing to go to the loo eight times a day ... single handed!! Smile

Hi Joanna,

Does that mean your GP had those results for 2 years without telling you?

I hope the steroids work well for you.

Love, Doreen xx
